STORYBOARD
For the storyboard, I focused on mapping out the shots, character actions, music, and locations for both the long-form and short-form videos. Using Canva and my imagination, I carefully planned each scene’s visual elements to ensure a seamless narrative flow across different formats. The assignment required me to pay close attention to shot composition, action types, music selection, and settings, while adhering to the specific time constraints of each video.
This process taught me how to visualize and organize my ideas before filming, which helped streamline the production process. Additionally, this exercise reinforced the importance of strategic scene planning, ensuring that each element contributed to the story while aligning with the technical requirements of various video platforms. By organizing the visual and auditory components before filming, I was able to create a more efficient and cohesive production, which ultimately enhanced the storytelling in both video formats.

LONG-FORM VIDEO FOR YOUTUBE
The long-form YouTube video I created was a dynamic and engaging newscast-style production aimed at reshaping the public perception of the rock band One-Eyed Zombie while highlighting their passion for music education. Through strategic storytelling, I incorporated multiple perspectives—an informative news anchor, an optimistic marketing and PR director, a sincere teacher, and a joyous student—to create an immersive experience for the audience. The process involved scripting, shooting, editing, and producing content using tools like Canva and iMovie, which allowed me to refine my skills in video production, AI-assisted content creation, and storytelling. One key lesson I learned was the importance of adaptability in content creation; when my initial video fell short of the required time, I introduced a new character to add depth and strengthen the narrative. Additionally, I gained insight into how different media elements—such as voiceovers, music, and AI-generated content—can work together to craft a compelling and engaging story that resonates with viewers.

SHORT-FORM VIDEO FOR INSTAGRAM
The short-form video for Instagram was a repurposed version of the long-form newscast video, condensed to highlight the key messages of One-Eyed Zombie’s advocacy for music education. Focused on engaging viewers within a shorter timeframe, the video features the zombie band, a music teacher, and a Marketing and PR Director, while emphasizing music education’s importance and encouraging audience participation through donations. I condensed the original content, removed unnecessary scenes, and restructured it for Instagram’s vertical format, ensuring the story remained impactful. The video was edited to include call-to-action prompts and visually emphasized key phrases, driving engagement. Through this process, I learned how to adapt long-form content for social media, optimize video length, and incorporate interactive elements for greater viewer involvement.

Additional Video Creations
I was so inspired by these assignments that I created two additional videos to complement the One-Eyed Zombie project, both designed as YouTube Shorts.
The first was a promo reel, featuring a still photo of the lead band member from One-Eyed Zombie at the beginning. This short video, with a news anchor promoting the newscast, highlighted the key themes of the full broadcast, particularly the importance of music education, while generating anticipation for the main event. I used Canva, AI avatars, and my creativity to craft a concise, engaging introduction that will drive viewers to watch the full newscast. The second video was a show teaser for the band’s upcoming performance, also created as a YouTube Short. This teaser, made using only music and visuals, built excitement and captured the band’s energy and unique zombie identity. Through strategic music selection and visually striking shots, I teased the audience, enhancing the overall narrative and building anticipation for the event. These videos allowed me to explore creative storytelling and reinforce the One-Eyed Zombie brand in engaging ways.
