The assignment A Hero Story Starring You challenges students to create a personal narrative using the Hero's Journey story structure. Students must depict themselves as the hero, following all 12 stages of the Hero’s Journey. This assignment allows for either a factual or embellished story, as long as it aligns with the narrative structure. The video must include a clear beginning, middle, and end and utilize storytelling software.
This assignment emphasizes the importance of creating a structured, engaging story that holds the viewer’s interest. By applying the Hero’s Journey framework, I gained valuable insights into character development, narrative pacing, and how to communicate a personal journey in a compelling and relatable way. The project strengthened my ability to use multimedia tools effectively while conveying a powerful story that aligns with marketing principles.
