This assignment requires students to begin with a personalized introduction that demonstrates an understanding of the recipient's interests. The pitch itself must effectively highlight the newsworthiness of the story or campaign, employing persuasive messaging techniques to capture the recipient's attention. Furthermore, a clear call to action is essential, encouraging the recipient to engage further with the campaign or consider covering it in their media outlet. By applying best practices for media relations and leveraging course materials, students aim to demonstrate their ability to strategically communicate and persuade key media figures in real-world PR scenarios. Through this assignment, I learned how to strategically structure and craft a compelling pitch that not only grabs the attention of journalists or influencers but also persuades them to take interest in covering the campaign.
